Privacy Policy
LoreFuel ("we", "the app") respects your privacy. This explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information — the email address you sign up with. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your address, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address, not your real one.
- Your reading activity — the books on your shelf, the chapters you log or skip, your reading goals and reading speed, quiz attempts, any recollection you write when you finish a book, and any chapter count or page range you set yourself for a book.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment-card details.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, or advertising identifiers.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to keep your shelf and progress in sync across devices, generate quizzes and chapter summaries, grade the recollection you write, track your reading goals, and manage your subscription.
Book details themselves — chapters, summaries and quiz questions — are shared across all readers of the same edition, so a book is only ever prepared once. Anything personal to you is not: your progress, your quiz answers, your recollections and any chapter or page range you set yourself are yours alone, and no other reader can see them. Where the app shows a group figure — the book club's average quiz score — it is an average across readers with a minimum number of participants, never an individual result.
A small number of LoreFuel staff accounts can access reading activity — the books on a shelf, chapters logged and quiz attempts — where it is needed to operate the service, investigate a problem, or answer a support request. What you write when you finish a book, and any chapter or page range you set for yourself, are not accessible this way.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers needed to run the app:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in.
- Anthropic (Claude) — generates chapter summaries and quiz questions, and grades the recollection you write. The book's details and the text you submit for grading are sent for this purpose.
- Resend — delivers account emails, such as your confirmation and password-reset links.
- Google Books and Open Library — queried by ISBN, title or author to fetch book details and cover images.
- Apple — handles Sign in with Apple and processes subscription purchases.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and everything associated with it at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. Shared book details stay in the catalogue for other readers, but they contain nothing personal to you.
Children
LoreFuel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
